Thanks Jimbob! I will go and pickup a long grease line for the grease gun and give it a try today. Thanks again. Not too bad of a job,you need to lift the cab and behind the pump towards the back of the engine if you put your hand in there you should feel the grease nipples on the u-joint.I think there is 3 of them.I put an extra long flex end on my grease gun to reach. If the nipples are on a bad angle then you just flick the starter key so they move around to an easier angle so you can grease them. This procedure was often neglected and have seen many 743's which needed the uni replaced(engine has to be removed)hope this helps!!!
I too want to grease the u-joint on my 743 since I just baught it. I lifted the cab and took a quick look. can I acess the u-joint easly? Looks like the fan housing is in the way or am i not looking at it rightThanks Jimbob! I will go and pickup a long grease line for the grease gun and give it a try today. Thanks again.
You're looking at it right. You need to lay on the pump and yet a long grease gun extension to get to the nipples. Its not an easy task, but can be done.I too want to grease the u-joint on my 743 since I just baught it. I lifted the cab and took a quick look. can I acess the u-joint easly?
