What is the lever behind the throttle speed stick?? Is yanmar a good engine?? there is also a lever on the left side foot area. What is that for? Just bought machine at an auction it has 2800 hours on it but it seems to be in great conditon .no hydraulic leaks under cab looks good. Don't see any grease or leaks. Is 2800 a lot of hours?? How ,much more life does the machin have

I don't know about the levers, but yes, Yanmar are good engines.
As for engine life, you should get 4-5,000 hours out of it if you keep up to date with servicing.
If you don't see any grease, go around and give all the grease nipples a good squirt of grease and you know its all lubricated.

That lever is the Hi-flow lever

thanks for the reply. I have more questions. I think the gehl is 2 speed tranny. Is the 2 speed automatic or do i haver to do something? For having 2700 hours the machine doesn't smoke at all. Is that normal. are these engines to be rebuilt in cab or should the engine be removed? thanks

If the engine needs a rebuild, you will have to pull the engine. Simple head work should be able to be done in place but any major work it will have to come out for machining work.
If its running well without smoke, just keep up to date on servicing.

If it is a two speed, on your left hand control there is two bottons, push the one on the left for Hi speed but you must sellect before you start moving ,to go back to low you must stop again and hit the same botton , if you dont stop there is going to be a big bang ,witch I dont think is good for the machine ,on my owners manual it specified this ,and when you get it on hi gear you are going to see a very fast skisteer ,2700 hrs sounds hi but I think you can get 3 to 4 times that many hrs with proper maintenance and good opperators manners these engines are very reliable and can give you a very long lasting life, we have used them on boats for a long time and so far most people that I know are happy with em, my 2109 has the perkins and I have not need to used full throttle yet and dont think I'll ever justified more than half on anything ,The way I run mine looks like it burns just under two gallons per hr ,that is spreading and grading fill dirt and loading trucks .
