no codes, it stays running as long as you start it cold but once you shut her down you have to wait until she cools off before she will start again.Any error codes? or the engine just dies?
Sounds like a possible lift pump issue. Can you try squeezing the primer bulb when its warm and get someong to crank it and see if it fires up?no codes, it stays running as long as you start it cold but once you shut her down you have to wait until she cools off before she will start again.
followup, this was caused by leaving off the screem on the bottom of the fuel probe when I repaired it with parts I had on hand in the field. The screen from bobcat also has a check valve in it that prevents fuel backflow and makes the machine easier to start. hope this helps someone in the future.Sounds like a possible lift pump issue. It could also be the fuel shut off solenoid.
Do you get any smoke whhile cranking?
I would have to say that the screen with the check ball on the pick up tube was not your problem , maybe you stumpled on what it really was or it mysteriously fixed it's self , as the local dealer has told me that over the years that they don't put the screen back on any machines they replace the fuel pickup tube on because it will clog up fast , and never have I replaced the screen ,and I have done at least 100 plus pickup tube jobs over the years and never had that problem ------if the fuel does drain back into the tank out the hose between the primer bulb and the pickup tube then there is another check built into the primer bulb that stops the fuel from siphoning the filter back into the tank , also the fuel in the filter is enough to get the motor running while the pickup tube is refilled ----------I ain't buying into the that onefollowup, this was caused by leaving off the screem on the bottom of the fuel probe when I repaired it with parts I had on hand in the field. I dont like to discount good luck but I too doubt the pickup screen was the problem. I havent replaced over a hundred tubes more like 25-30 and I have never installed the screen on the new tube. Not one hot start fail after the fix was reported. I would more easily believe a loose connection drawing air or a bad check in the rest of the system. Even a piece of debris in a check could cause the problem and after it passed the problem may fix itself.I would have to say that the screen with the check ball on the pick up tube was not your problem , maybe you stumpled on what it really was or it mysteriously fixed it's self , as the local dealer has told me that over the years that they don't put the screen back on any machines they replace the fuel pickup tube on because it will clog up fast , and never have I replaced the screen ,and I have done at least 100 plus pickup tube jobs over the years and never had that problem ------if the fuel does drain back into the tank out the hose between the primer bulb and the pickup tube then there is another check built into the primer bulb that stops the fuel from siphoning the filter back into the tank , also the fuel in the filter is enough to get the motor running while the pickup tube is refilled ----------I ain't buying into the that one

I would rather work on all machines under 10,000 lbs also , but do about anything on any machine as these days you got to take what you can get , it does seems most of my jobs are Bobcats and excavators under 16,000 lbs as they are everywhere nowdays and there is no job site without a mini loader and /or excavator of some kind -------------the local Catapillar dealership charges $125 per hour and $4 a mile nowdays , the New Orleans and surrounding area is really spread out , say 100 miles radius , and the normal for them is $500 to and back from a job before they touch a wrench , so people are looking for an alternative ---------what is you'll rates , and do you'll charge mileage ?I work for a new equipment dealership. Shop rate is $65 an hour we do pick up and delivery based on that rate plus expences; works out to $75-$100 an hour most of the time. We will do on-site repair for our platinum customers but we charge a premuim. We are the local "Stealer" that so many refer to. The good customers gladly pay the rate because they are getting the same amounts for their services. The cut rate guys are never happy "Go Figure".I would rather work on all machines under 10,000 lbs also , but do about anything on any machine as these days you got to take what you can get , it does seems most of my jobs are Bobcats and excavators under 16,000 lbs as they are everywhere nowdays and there is no job site without a mini loader and /or excavator of some kind -------------the local Catapillar dealership charges $125 per hour and $4 a mile nowdays , the New Orleans and surrounding area is really spread out , say 100 miles radius , and the normal for them is $500 to and back from a job before they touch a wrench , so people are looking for an alternative ---------what is you'll rates , and do you'll charge mileage ?
