Hey guys, i got a question. i have a lx 885. i bought a hoe att. for it. it is a 914b bobcat att. it was on a articulated bobcat. i cut off some brackets and set it up for a quick att. set up. the hoe is 14 ft reach. it weighs 2600 lbs. IT IS HEAVY. i do not work the machine for a living, just around the house. but will take on small jobs if presented. do you think this is too much stress on the machine. should i get rid of it or what. i only got 2500 invested and got a five gallon bucket full of theeth and two buckets. hoe is tight. and it works. oh ya my machine will lift 2200 lb to the highest point that the loader arms will lift. comments , suggestions what ever will be app. help. thanks in advance. oh ya if i decide to sell, i would only want what i got in it. I wouldnt think it is to much if you just use it light. But I dont know to much about it. I am looking for a backhoe for mine. So if you want to sell it let me know. My skid steer is a little smaller than yours but I will to risk it unless there is a safety issue. New Holland 783.

I dont have a back hoe attachmnt. I think I have seen this question asked before and I think you will be ok when set up with your feet down using it. The problems may come when traveling on slopes. Steering could get light on the rear tires.Your loader weighs over 7000 # stock.
I know I have carried more than 700 # more than what mine is rated for without much trouble. I do have foam filled tires..Your load is going to stay low. Just be careful when traveling and loading on trailers.
I would put it on the front and move it around and get a feel for how it handles.

I can move it around no problem. ya , the hills are ... different to say the least. going up a hill is one thing but coming down a hill is a thrill. a little nose heavy. just dont know what i should do. if some one offered me what i had in it i would let it go. id probally regret it. but hind sight is always 20/20

I don't think thats any worse then hanging a 1500 lb 709 on a bobcat 753. That was the smalest loader bobcat rated for that hoe. it only weight 4700 lbs and had a 1300 lb roc. The hoes weight is my est though. You pretty much had to back it down hills.

I too had that issue, i found if i curl it all up and turn it to the side it would handle driving far better. Does that make sense?
It makes the path you travel wider but it sure helps keep the weight further back so as to not tip as easily.

1 well mullud, im around pittsburgh ,PA. 2 its not bad like tazza says about curling everything up and swinging the hoe either right or left. it does make for a wide load. this thing is no little toy. the reach is incredable. i might have to go get some new glasses to see the teeth at full extention.

Just curious, what does a 12' hoe wiegh? either fixed or extend-a-hoe?

I've done the swing thing b4 too, sometimes to shift the center of gravity when traveing sideway across a slope, maybe even fully extent the boom if there is the need and room.
