Tilt problem

Help Support SkidSteer Forum:

Thanks for that warning and let me know what they determine is the cause.
checked the arms last night, there are no type of stops on the arms, or any signs of any having been there. Once I get my cylinder back, I guess I will have to make some stops. Can anyone tell me anymore about the stops? length, thickness, placement? Any help would be appreciated.

They are about 3/4" thick and about 1" wide and about 2" long. They hit up against the flat spot on the bobtach. I hope that gives you the detail you need if not let me know and i'll get some pictures in daylight.

I'll check that out on mine too. Can't say that I remember seeing that. Thanks

The newer style uses a stop that is part of the bobtach. It should have one or the other, if not its not a bad idea to fit one. I remember my 731 manual listed that if they were not fitted to weld them on, it seems it was not always done at the factory...

Mine must be the other type because I don't see any signs of ever having that type of stop. I need too look at the other type and compare with mine. Could be my bobtach stops are bent. Was that the operations manual or the service manual that gave that advice? Thanks

It was the service manual. Some were never fitted thats why you saw no signs of one, if its the same style it was never fitted.

I took a closer look today and noticed that there didn't seem to be any stop on the bobtach either. I remember the person I bought the bobcat from telling me he had replaced the bobtach on this machine. It seems he must have used the old type bobtach with the newer type arms. Therefore it doesn't have any stops at all. I suspect this may have damaged the tilt cylinder and maybe the cause of the tilt cylinder leak down. I need to have the stops welded on the arms before I have the cylinder repaired or it may ruin another cylinder. During my exam today, I decided to drive to my shed and repair the leaking tire. The bobcat sudden shut down. I restarted it and 3 seconds later, off again. I then replaced the fuel filter ( 3 attempts because the lower gasket kept leaking) and that fixed the problem. Then had to wash the engine compartment because of the amount of diesel fuel and leakage. I hate a machine that smells strong of diesel fuel. I figure for every hour of use , I spent an hour of repair or maintance. But I have to keep the amount I saved by buying a used older machine.

I meant to say, I have to keep IN MIND the amount of MONEY I saved by buying a used older machine. Where is the edit button????

I started another thread to try and find a replacement cylinder for my bobcat. The one that was on there cannot be repaired! I was already in bobcat withdrawl, no I am in bobcat depression! Anyone know where I can find a cylinder? Bobcat wants $1100.00!
