I'm looking for a Bobcat and came across this one. Can someone tell me if the price is ok?? 863 with 2025 hrs for $25000.00 +GST or one with 808hrs $28000.00 + GST or if you know of someone that has one to sell for about upto $25000.00 that would help too. Cheers .

I forgot to mention i'm in the Brisbane region if that helps.
It depends on what you want to do, an 863 is a large machine, its rated to lift about 1.5 tonne! its a real monster. Most skid steers you see around the traps are around the 700-800kg range. The price is about rite for such low hours and its a late model machine.
Like i said, it all goes on what you want to do with it. If you want it just for around the land, you should consider an older and smaller machine. The 743 range is great as its all mechanical and anyone can work on them. The later model ones get a little more tricky with the electronics, so the repair costs can be higher if it fails.

I must admit I thought the 863 was rather large as well but I do want to shift a lot of dirt around so a big bucket would be good, also after I'm finished I'm also looking at contracting myself out as well (after i get my ticket of course), But this was the first machine I've looked at and i was hoping to get one around the 15000-20000 mark.

True, just remember the larger the machine the tight spaces you just can't get into as well. It will also use more fuel. I'm really not sure how popular this size machine is over here as 90% of them are the "7" series size, weighing about 2 tonne and rated to lift about 700kg, but they can lift more. Just keep these points in mind when you decide.
I'm not sure what engines these run, but i'm assuming a detuz oil cooled, if you go the for higer hour one, you really should get the timing belt changed as soon as you get it, if it fails you will bend all your push rods and may cause valve and piston damage too. I can't remember how many hours before it needs to be changed but other members in here have been caught before!
Good
