    LX565 Boom Cylinder upper bushing

Hi All Can anyone tell me if the boom cylinders have a replaceable bush at the top pivot point where the boom pin is? The parts diagram shows a bush at the bottom pivot but not at the top. Also, has anyone fabricated their own replacement pins to save paying for genuine ones? I'm in Australia...

    LX565 boom dropping

My LX565 boom sometimes drifts down when I'm using the machine. It drops fairly quickly, probably 20 seconds it will go all the way from all the way up to the ground. Seems worse when it is cold. Sometimes I can fix it by doing some quick up and down movements with the pedal. So it doesn't do it...

    Glow plug run time LX565

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately here in Australia we don't have as much range in the stores available. My dealer is asking $60 each but didn't have any in stock so I opened up mine and put a little lubrication on the actuator. It is working well now and I see no reason to think it won't last.

    Glow plug run time LX565

I took the relay out and proved that it is sluggish to operate. I would like to source one but the only markings on it is logansport.in. I searched google but had no luck finding anything like it. I'm thinking I should probably replace the start relay as well but it scares me to think how much...

    Glow plug run time LX565

I'll do some further investigating and figure out if its a sticky relay or something else.

    Glow plug run time LX565

What is the correct operation of the glow plug time or engine pre-heat as the manual describes it? Should the power go off as soon as the engine starts? The reason I ask is I was bleeding the injector lines and after cranking the engine in service mode I turned the ignition off and was using a...

1998 LS180 with no throttle response

Mine had similar symptoms when I ran low on fuel and got air into the system. I had to bleed the injector lines with the engine running and after it was fine again.

    Jerky skidsteer

Thanks for that. It is reassuring to know that it is normal and it's not something to do with my machine. I will practice trying to stop my arm movements from setting up the rocking motion.

    Jerky skidsteer

My LX565 seems very prone to jerky backwards and forwards movements when working on bumpy uneven ground. Being new to skid steers and having only ever driven this one I don't know if this is normal? It seems to travel fine over smooth ground but it almost seems like when you do something to...

Air bubbles in coolant overflow tank

I checked Messiks, part number 90-7731T1, but it doesn't say what pressure it is. The dealer here in Australia wanted $50 for the part that Messicks sells for $11.50 even though the Australian dollar is worth more than the US dollar. Hence I bought an aftermarket cap but I might go back and get...

Air bubbles in coolant overflow tank

I think I'll price up a head gasket but maybe just monitor the situation and change the head gasket when I get some time. I bought a new radiator cap but later noticed that the one that was on it was a 7 pound relief. The one I bought was a 14 pound relief. Does anyone know what pressure...

Air bubbles in coolant overflow tank

I don't seem to be having much luck in my restoration project on the LX565. I recently noticed air bubbles (about 3 bubbles a second) in the coolant overflow tank. No sign of water in the oil or any other problems though. I'm assuming this is a head gasket gone?? The engine is not the original...

    Boom pins on a LX565

Thanks Mike10. Yes, its worn as you described. I just phoned for a price on the kit you described but they want $640 (Australia) for the kit. I think I will try to fabricate the equivalent of the kit myself. If the original pin is held with a bolt to stop it rotating in the boom, why do the...

    Boom pins on a LX565

I have a couple of questions about the pins where the boom hydraulic ram meets the boom. Mine has had a hard life and the pins have worn out the hole in the boom. The previous owner has welded a new plate on both sides over the top of the elongated hole and put a new longer pin in. It all looks...

    Draining the gear boxes

Thanks Mike. What is the benefit though of modifying it to have a common reservoir? From memory was it because the seal on the shaft was prone to leaking which would drain your gearbox oil into the chain case?
