What's it worth?

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to get an idea of the value of my 1978 to 1982 Mustang Owatonna 345 skid steer. It's in need of a rebuild and I don't want to have more tied up in it than what it's worth. It has had all the hydraulics rebuilt on it and a new rebuilt engine is going to cost me about $3000. I could also rebuild it for about $2000. Thanks in advance. Marc

Really hard to say, if you can get away with the 2k rebuild, i say go for it. It's not just what it is worth, it's also what its worth to you and what another machine of the same basic size will cost you if you were to 'upgrade'
If you have had the machine for a long time and done a lot of work, the 2-3k could even be thought of as normal wear and tear for what has already been done.
The 2k, will that fix all it's issues? i assume just the engine is getting a little lazy?
