I hangout mostly down in the New Holland area of the forum but came up here to get an answer from the bobcat experts. I have an LX665 NH machine for sale and a guy want to do a partial trade on a bobcat. He doesnt know that model. Links to pics are below. Anyone know what it is? Also he said the bucket tilt cylinder broke. Anyone ever hear of this? Sounds like some bad abuse. Thanks! http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae63/mdfyock/bobcat2.jpg

That's the best I got of the front.... Why guys looking to trade don't try to "sell" their item a little better is beyond me...
From the picture I would guess it is worth scrap value only. It looks abused and if he doesn't know the model he certainly never did any maintenance on it either.

Yeah, I am beginning to think that way too. He says its an 2001. I have never seen paint faded that bad on a machine that new. The tilt cylinder is broken. He said an operator put too much power to it while moving heavy concrete...So either there is a pressure relief issue or they were sideloading the cylinder and bent it under pressure...

Kubota engine, single tilt cylinder, newer style rear door. My best guess would be a late 90's 753.
Tilt cylinders get broken when the welded on stops for the BobTach get broken off or very worn.

8 lug wheels tells me its a 700 series and the rear door and Kubota engine look a lot like a 753. Try and get more info from the engine tag. It looks like a v2203. But I'd say 753

So now the real question. Whats it worth if its a late model 753?Supposedly has 3600 hours and a bucket. I cant see more than a couple grand.

In good working condition it would be worth $6000-$7000.
If all that's wrong with it is a broken tilt cylinder and possibly the tilt stops I'd deduct $1500-$1700.
But you really need to get a look in the cab to determine series and control system.

Maybe around a 1999. 763?

nope, 763 only had one tilt cylinder. but it's definetly a 753 with the short wheel base. i suppose it could be a 653 because those had 8 lug wheels but i don't think they sold hardly any of those, i've never seen one.
I would say 753 too, the 763 has a slightly longer wheel base.
Does it still drive well?
The cylinder eyes can be torn off due to wear or damage to the stops and you over extend. It's not common, but it happens.

I'd say run the serial number. If the plate is gone that'd be a red flag since it has been repainted and has no decals. If the serial number plate is missing, the serial number is stamped in the lower part (black at the bottom) somewhere. It can take some looking but it's there. I'd run the serial number before I did much of anything.

BTW, The back of the cab looks like a 1999 or earlier. The 2000 machines had more of a rounded corner at the back. I didn't see a front pic without the tarp on it. If it has rectangular headlights it's 1999 and earlier. If it has triangular headlights it's 2000 or newer.

99% sure it is an earlier S130, if not, its a G series 753. It has a G series door and there is no fuse boxes in the right lower area of the engine compartment. If in decent usable shape with reasonable hours, that's a $10,000- $12,000 unit.

Go to this link: http://www.machinerytrader.com/drilldown/models.aspx?ETID=1&catid=1055&Manu=BOBCAT. It's a list of any model bobcat currently for sale around the country, with prices. You should get a good idea of what machines are going for around the country
