Hi, new to this forum and Bobcat ownership. My question, I have a late 90's 773 with 1,800 hours, runs great but has one problem. Starts great cold, and some of the time warm, but often will not start once warm. All safties appear fine (green lights all on), I turn the key to on and wait for them to cycle then attempt to start. Starter engages and operates for about six seconds with no indication of starting, then I cancel process. Once I repeat, it normally will start right up. I generally leave the hand throttle in the same position as I was running it, is this wrong? Or do I have a few delivery issue? Unfortunately I have little experience with Diesel power. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you get any smoke?
If not, i'd suspect it could be your shut down solenoid is not engaging correctly. This is a cylinder that sits on the side of the engine near the injector pump. When you crank it should pull in and hold there, when you turn the key off it releases and the engine stops. I'd start looking there.
