Track tension grease fitting won’t hold grease in

Last Friday the track slipped off. On saturday, I got the track back on and went in to add grease to bring it back to correction tension. As soon as I removed the grease gun, all the grease shot back out from the zerk hole. I did research online and someone said the valve might be faulty. I went to bobcat and got two of them and the same thing happened.

When I first released the tension I did a few turns to get the grease out. When I screwed it back in, I did a quick hit with the impact. Far from hammering it down. New ones were hand tightened.

Can someone help me try to figure this issue out?

Go to your dealer and let them repair that under warranty
The grease fitting is bad

I tried 2 new ones as well and it still did it. I will call today, but of like you know what I’m doing wrong or why it’s happening

It is probably not seating correctly, can you take a picture from the bottom of the fitting?
How tied did you tightened them?

I had the exact same scenario with the grease fitting. I even bought two new ones and they did the same thing. A bobcat mechanic told me they need to be very tight and when I thought it was tight, to tighten it more. It never held grease and eventually the fitting came apart, leaving it stuck in the hole. That's been another nightmare. I still can't get it out.

I'm a bit confused. There is a grease zerk for tightening the track and a bleeder to let the grease out. You dont loosen the zerk to let grease out, just turn the bleeder open instead. What happens if you loosen the zerk the pressure from the grease inside the cylinder will pop the zerk out and strip the threads. This may be your issue.

Seems to me that some units had a bolt that was really a check valve, the reasoning was the grease zerk could not hold the pressure on the tensioning cylinder and the bleeder was just that for servicing the tracks, if the check valve faild the zerk would also fail.
