What would cause a BRAND NEW battery to drain on a TL130 in less than 3 hrs? Wed have changed the ignition switch, starter, alternator, battery only to find that after 2-3 hrs the unit is dead. From the looks of the schematic the horn is the only item that gets power to that button as well as the starter, and ignition switch. We can jump start the unit and it starts right up and starts to recharge the battery as it is supposed to do. Any suggestions?

Drained in 3 hours means you have a decent load. It could be a bad diode in the alternator causing it to back feed and rain the battery.

The battery drain happens when the unit is shut down...when operating we are getting 12+ volts to the battery which shows the alternator is working properly. After looking at the schematic there are only so many places that are getting constant battery power, so will be starting to troubleshoot in the fuse block.

That isn't always true. It may generate power when running, but if a diode is bad it will draw power when the machine is turned off. They need power to excite the core, when you start the engine.
To rule the alternator out, remove the power cable from it and the excite wire too. See if it changes anything.
Another member has given advise of how to find power drains by removing a battery terminal and putting a 12v test lamp between the two connectors. Remove fuses till the light goes out.

I can pretty much rule out the alternator issue as it is brand new and has been tested by a reputable electric shop. The fuse pulling is something we were considering after one test to see what had a current draw. Unfortunately, the unit is still on rent but we hope to get it back sometime tomorrow (Thurs)

Hopefully it will be easy to find when you get it back by doing the fuse pull.

The only thing that the fuse pull found was that we had 2 fuses that were broke. Both on the lower end of the block one of them being the horn. This unit does not have a stop motor as the previous unit I had listed in here. It has a solenoid which seemed to work properly. After going through the unit with a fine tooth comb looking at all of the wires, we discovered that the Alternator was in fact grounding somewhere. This was happening before the NEW alternator was put in as well. So after a full battery on charge was left on the unit and the alternator disconnected the unit started with no issues. We now have the alternator back in the system and will check it later on today sometime.

At least you know where to look, i wonder if your old alternator was still ok....
