Tilt Spool Sticking after rebuild. Help!!! Quick!!!

I just replaced the lift and tilt spool seals on my 763. I spread 1 load of dirt. The pedals were working very smoothly. Then on the last bucket of material, the tilt spool was hard to push with my heel. When I got it to press down, it stuck. I had to return it to center with my toe. It is harder to push at higher rpm. No leaks. I put some cheap r and o hydraulic fluid in it to get it on the trailer originally. That fluid is still in the machine and its a little low but not too low and no cavitation/foaming. What gives? Why would it all of a sudden start acting up?

did functions slow down.this would indactate pump greanading , need to do a flow check. flush meter after doing this. , dissamble control valve does spool move freely or did trash from pump hit it? comes straight from pump to control valve. hope its not a 45 in the foot.

Nothing slowed down. Just all of a sudden started to stick. Does it sound like trash? How do I clean it out? Im about to take the caps off of the centering spring and check it. Will trash work its way out?

Is it your lift spool? i wonder if the detent balls and spring have come loose somehow.
You can also try twisting the spool shaft 180 degrees. It sometimes helps with binding. If it still binds up, remove the cap where the centering spring is.

New info about this. It is the tilt spool. I have tried everything! I have narrowed it down to the centering spring, I think. I removed the interlock and tried it, still sticking. (btw, when i say sticking i mean, rough pedal operation and it sticks in the tilt up position, I have to rock the bucket a little forward to "unhang" the pedal. It makes it impossible to finesse the tilt) I turned the spool 180 degrees, still sticking. It seems that every time I remove the centering spring cap and re install it, the operation is just right for a short time (10 minutes) then it goes back to sticking and rough throughout the pedal range of motion. I put a little grease inside the cap which did nothing to help. There are no scars inside the cap like its been rubbed or anything. I can't figure this thing out! Any more ideas guys?

I don;t know exactly what control block you have, does it have lock out solenoids to stop the spool moving when the seat bar is up? if so, can you remove the tilt spool solenoid, see if it keeps binding. If not, you know the problem is the solenoid.

Removed the solenoid. Made no difference. Do centering springs foul up?

I didn't believe they would..... They are known to break, but not to bind..... There are no detent balls or springs to jam the works either, its just a spring and cap......
I can't think of anything else in there that could be doing it. The seals rub on the smooth surfaces of the spool, so there will be very little resistance here. How did the seals come out? did you have to remove a cap that had the seal behind it? I can't remember what mine looked like exactly. I just wonder if it may have not seated quite right and its touching the spool shaft?
Its not leaking any oil?
I guess its possible a piece of seal got cut off when the spool went back in to make it bind up? Or have you had it out after it started binding?

I've had it apart since binding. It's was binding before it started leaking, I fixed the seals and the leak stopped, but it still binds. I've pulled it apart since and found nothing. Spool shafts look smooth and shiny. What gives folks!?

could the spool be bent? when it heats up it gets worse?

Any areas that you can see that are extra shiny that aren't on the other side?
I too amd starting to think its possible the spool may have a slight bend in it....

No shiny spots or rough spots. I rolled it on my glass table and it rolls very smooth and even. No wobble whatsoever. The centering spring cap has some minor wear marks on it there it looks like the springs and washer have rubbed. I slid the spool in and out of the valve manually and it moved smooth throughout. Any ideas?

What type of spool lock outs does it have?

The only other thing it can be is something in the linkages..... Can you push and pull the spool by hand? I stick a screwdriver or pin punch through the holes in the spool and push/pull. If it doesn't seem to bind, it has to be a linkage somewhere....
The few marks in the cap shouldn'e be an issue either.

bobcat t-650 tilt functions stick and hard peddle i have a 2010 bobcat t-650 standard flow and standard controls having issues with my functions my right peddle the bucket tilt and curl is acting up sticking in both directions and peddle gets hard to move, once it moves correctly it might work ok for a few minutes but will act up again to the point you cant use tilt or curl at all it seems to get worse ounce the machine is warm for sure, i found a leak on the tilt spool cover on the back of the control valve remove and replaced o-ring and seal on valve put together could not move peddle move at all I removed the tilt linkage turned the tilt spool 180put the linkage back on machine worked great for about 20 min once machine was warm same problem, also if it helps i do have the auto bobcat and the only way it works is use lift or tilt function im guessing it by passes some hyd fluid and help's it. i have been working on skids a awhile but this one is getting the best of me any help would be great cant keep throwing parts at it thanks so much for your time

Spool valves are very touchy and over tighten causes a distortion of the valve body the tollarenc of the spool rod to the body is so tight that the film of oil is the seal to keep the high pressure from coming out around the spool rod, uneven and over tightening causes binding.

does the spool move freely by hand with nothing attached? seen it where the spool moves freely on the bench, attach the return centering spring and its rough moving, most of the time its the spring or spool rubbing on something not aligned correctly, its impossible for anything to wedge between seal faces and castings due to the clearance being almost zero, if it does usually it will throw a burr then it will bind

With out the wiper seal the spool should move freely to the point that if you turned it on end it would fall out if oil is present, if the does move freely then the problem is in the linkage and it is side loading the spool.
