I have just put new bobtach pins/bushings in the 843 few months ago, upon replacing the tilt cylinder pin i noticed that someone cobbed up a makeshift pin so that the piston ram end would fit snug. Question - is there any way to modify the piston shaft end of the tilt cylinder (washers, tube stock etc..) so that the standard 1" bobcat pin will fit snug again? has anyone had this problem and fixed it? update - wrote about a month ago about a starter alternator problem, and i thought i hooked up the alt. wrong, - turns out that the short that i had burned the diode out of the alternator, when i removed it from the machine it sounded like someone broke a little glass bottle inside of it, i went to napa and bought an ac delco speced for a 1981 malibu (P-7127), went home and bolted it right up, it is now charging like a champ, - the only thing that was different was the 2 wire plug location, lucky for me i had some slack in the alt wire and it plugged right in.. any help on the piston ram would be helpful Ryan in Ithaca NY

So the eye in the end of the ram is too large rite? your only option is to machine the hole out and install a bushing with the correct ID for the new pin.

the plug on a delco alt can be turned remove the 4 bolts holding the cases together and twist the two halves till the plug is right install the bolts and your good to go
