tilt blank spot.

I have an old 753 that has been working well, and then boom and bucket operations got progressively slower. Entire control valve has been replaced with a used one, all working well now with the exception that when back tilting the bucket there is a blank spot where the bucket falls annoyingly before tilting backwards.
I suspect a check valve malfunction, I note there are two, a primitive one between the inlet and outlet connections central in the body, and then another more sophisticated one parallel and just above the spool connector clevis.
I will greatly appreciate some assistance and comments if maybe I should look elsewhere.

are you sure the rod is not bent or seals bad, had a 743 with a bent rod, at a certain point in its travel it would deflect seal just enough to allow fluid past it

thanks but I cannot detect any tightness or damage to the spool/rod
