4 new hoses between hyd. pump & drive motors. Problem: I forgot to mark the connections between pump/motors. Could someone please tell me the connection pattern? Each drive motor has a front & back port. 4 ports on hyd. pump. Upper & lower / Right & Left. I know the left side drive motor is connected to the left side ports of the hyd. pump, but don't remember which is upper/lower. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John

I have a 2005 T180 which I believe is identical to the T190 except for the lift arm apparatus. I currently have a house full of guests, but I'll try to get into the shop and lift the cab to check out the hoses. The right hand motor is visible, but the left is very efficiently tucked behind the hydrostatic reservoir. Its mere presence can only be deduced, not observed directly without removal of several layers of assorted hardware. I'll try to do a post tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. :) ---RC

John, don't forget this is for my T180, not a T190. I can only see the right hand drive motor. I see two large (1-1/2"?) hoses coming from the right side of the pump. The top one goes to the back of the drive motor. The bottom one from the pump goes to the front of the drive motor. I can barely see two other smaller hoses going to the drive motor, but they're slightly different sizes. I can't actually see the drive motor from the inside of the Bobcat, I can only see the hoses going through the side of the machine. Hope this helps. --- You obviously have the drive motor out. How did you do that? Did you disconnect the hoses from the pump, then pull the hoses and motor out all together. I see no way to get a wrench on the hoses at the drive motor with the motor installed. :) ---RC

RC - Thanks for the info. The two smaller hoses aren't an issue. I know 1 is a case drain, the other is the brake release. It's the two larger drive motor hoses that I'm concerned with. I suppose I could just hook them up & see which way the motor turns. So far, on the RHS, you say the bottom pump port is coupled to the front motor port and the top pump port is coupled to the rear motor port. I wonder whether the LHS would be the same. I may just have to guess. I accessed the drive motor ports by removing the tracks & motor covers. Thanks again for your help!

Top goes to the rear, same for both sides. I just now popped the cage up and crawled back in there and peeked around the hydrostatic reservoir. I can see the hoses far enough into the sidewall of the Bobcat to see where the fittings are crimped to the hoses. No chance of them crossing over. To confirm, the top pump hoses (large, maybe 1-1/2" diameter?) go to the rear of the drive motors, and the bottom pump hoses connect to the front drive motor ports. --- To get the drive motors out, you must have disconnected all four hoses inside the chassis and pulled the drive motor and hoses out the side. Wow, wouldn't be my favorite thing to do. Why did the motors need to be pulled? Hours on machine? Did the drive motors have the tiny lube port, or were they sealed? I still need to pull a track and sprocket and see if mine have an oil-change port on the drive motors. --- :) ---RC

RC - Thanks again for the info. I'll hook the lines up as suggested. I don't have the drive motors out & haven't yet pulled the sprockets to see if there are oil change ports. The machine was burned in a fire - all hoses, electrical, seat, cab plastics, etc., were melted. The machine had less than 100 hrs. of use prior to fire - I purchased a newer complete engine on craigslist last year for around $2k & found many other parts on ebay over the last 18months. Saved thousands $$ on parts on ebay (wiring harnesses, controller, control valve, pumps, radiator, oil cooler, complete cab, seal kits). If you're patient, it seems just about all parts can be found on ebay and/or craigslist. Engine is now in & running -- just need to connect up the lines.

Wow! What an undertaking, John. I greatly respect that! My understanding is the T180 and T190 only differ in the mechanical linkage on the rear of the lift arms. The T180 has a single pivot point at the rear of the arms, and is termed a radial lift. Yours has an extra piece with a handful of extra pivot points (2?) and is called a vertical lift. --- If I can help in the future with other info on what goes where, just holler. When you get to the "where's the broken green wire go" don't ask me, because I haven't yet figured out where that green wire goes....... Maybe that's why I have a permanent error code "left swash plate out of tolerance high." If I knew what a swash plate was, I'd connect the wire to it and see if the code goes away...LOL. Do you have Selectable Joystick Control, or foot pedals? --- Ask questions here, I read the Bobcat forums almost daily. Or if the Q is something not of general interest, email directly at rmghorm-at-gmail.com--- :) ---RC
