Hi There! I`ve just bought a Mustang 2054 skid steer. When it were to be picked up, it wouldnt start. The driver tried it several times, and when it started it would just run for aprox 30sec and the stall. It wouldnt start afterwards.. The bucket wouldnt go down eighter. The machine is from the late 2000`s and have stood still the last year. Any thoughts of where to start look? My first thought were a fuel issue or an electrical issue, but could it be some kind of auto shutdown on this machine? I wont be around the machine for about 14 days, so I cant do any other research than search the web at the moment

if it sounded like it was loading up I would check and see if your aux hydro is stuck on

Hi there again. I`ve tried it a bit in between all the snow, and here is the symptoms: When it starts, it runs fine for about 20 sec. Then it dies. When I tried again, it ran for about 1-2 sec, and died again. The diesel gauge were showing almost empty, so I filled about 8 litres (two galons). The gauge showed about 1/4. The machine were standing of for about 5 minits, and I tried to start it again. Same symptoms all over again. Runs for about 20 sec, and dies. Then runs for a sec or two and dies. I noticed the lights in the "dash" were joking about. Were glowing, and shining al over the place. Seems to be a bad connection somewere.. I have never used any machine like this, so I dont know how the security works for the seat belts and the seat. But my first thought is some bad electrical connection, since the lights are flashing/gloing and the engine shut of imidiate.

Sounds like you might have run it out of fuel need to bleed the air out

I find it a bit to suspicious to be air in the fuel system, the symproms are to consease and repeatable. Do anyone know anything about the wiring to the seat? Is it suposed to be any voltage on one of those wires? I`ve checked the switch, and it is fine, but I dont get any voltage in any of the feeding wires..

So it sat for a year with a empty fue tank in the cold with condensation?

I`m not sure about the history, and if it were standing with or without fuel. I`ve just bought it.. Anyway, I were doing some work on it yesterday, and I found the voltage to the ignition switch to be a bit wierd. So I took a spare wire, and hooked it up from the batery, and to the switch. Then it started, and I ran it for about 30 min without any problems. When I took the wire away, it were just acting up again. So I believe there is a bad wire who is to blame of the fault.
