i trade my 773h with footcontroles into a s300 with SJC. With the footcotroles i had the machine mutch better under control than with the joysticks it feels like with the joysticks you are always to late or to rauf, with the old machine i was abel to turned off en on light in the shed, if i do it with the new one i think the wall is out. Is that normal with the joysticks (the late reaction)or what can i do about it.

You should be able to set the joystick sensativity thru the controll panel to three different levels , the joystick operation does take a lot of getting use to , I find when you hit a bump while moving your hand hits the stick and makes the machine jump , not a good machine to do close quarter work until you have put many hours on it , and even then it's dangerous --------I hate to tell you my feeling on the SJC , if I were you I buy into the longest extended warranty I could get and start trying to sell it before the warranty goes out , there are so many high dollar parts on that machine and without a laptop with software from Bobcat that they won't sell you , there isn't too much you can do to it when it goes down , good luck

thx for the info i didn't read the instuktion book, i did now and that helps a lot specialy the spead reducer is it realy so bad with the electronica in this machine i thought i bought an good machine but if i read your anser than it's an piece off crap ,are there more persons with bad experience.

I hate to be negative of your new machine , I am a heavy equipment mechanic since 1976 and I work on any type of equipment , probally more Bobcat than any other brand , when the JSC machine first came out around here everybody was jumping on them , till the electrical nightmares started up , there is way too much electrical wiring , components and software involved in keeping it running and down time became a real issue as most of the time the machine has to go to the dealer for troubleshoting but they don't run , funtion or move when they go down whcih causes even more problems , from my personal experiences I think JSC is the most unreliable , expensive to keep running after the warranty is up and most likely to leave you standed than any other machine Bobcat has ever built , I have seen some that don't have any or nearly the problems that other units do , but seen some that don't stop with malfuntion after malfuntion , maybe they will get the bugs out of them sooner or later , if you really like the hand controlls over foot controlls then Takeuchi would have been a much better choice as they use pilot pressure to operate the controlls and have far less electrical components and very, very seldom go down and have a much longer lasting under carriage and tracking system , the JSC version Bobcat is a "Fly By Wire " design which I think is a piece of crap , look in the news , Toyota's version of " throttle by wire " looks like it is going to hurt them pretty bad as it has already killed 30 plus people -----------I really think they put all that crap on the machine not to make it better and more reliable but to make it were you have to go to them for parts and service as that is where the money is at , and not enough of field testing is done before they put them out as you see alot of software up grades -------I know some will say that JSC is the finest machine they have ever owned and when it's "all right" I'd agree it's a Cadillac of loaders

I was thinking the same thing.
There have been a few members in here that have cursed the invention of SJC, one bought an A300 and from new, it spent more time at the dealer being repaired than on the job site making him money. There are always lemons out there, but the introduction of SJC has made it a bit of a nightmare. I know i'd love to have a machine with pilot controls, but having manual connections to the pump(s) means you have far less chance of being stuck.
With that said, you may never have an issue, i hope you don't. But if one does pop up, sadly, it may be rather costly.

Short post here, more details later. My SJC T180 started giving a "swash plate out of tolerance" error or something like that. Info error only, machine still ran fine. That went on for several hours intermittently, then it started killing the engine when I hit the green Push To Operate Loader button. Finally after about 40 tries, it stayed running when I hit the PTOL button. I had the trailer and ramps ready, and backed it on. Off to the dealer. Bad swash plate sensor. Sensor was $600. In the service manual, when replacing the sensor, the first line is "remove engine and pump assembly." Yup. Labor on that was over 20 hrs, for a total of around $3000. The worst part is, the machine is absolutely dead when that happens. If I'd had that happen way down in the boonies, I would have had to hire a dozer or equivalent to drag (yup, drag) it up to the road, then drag it onto a trailer. Not a really good design. Why is there not a "limp home" feature??? More details about the failure including error codes on a separate thread. No time now. :) ---RC

That sucks, big time. $3000.00 is just crazy to fix your machine. It is miserable for a manufacturer to design products that they know will need certain repairs and will cost the consumer a fortune to fix. Not to go on about this but my 763c is simple and easy to work on and for $3000.00 I would be installing another engine, not replacing a sensor. These foolish prices and proprietary parts are going to hurt a lot of people. If someone came out with a simple, easy to work on, machine with reasonable parts prices I think they would have a good part of the market.

I think all non pilot control Bobcats will get you home, worst case you can rig it to allow you to limp home. Hand controls? sadly, its not possible. I like the idea of a limp home mode. As others have a service mode that allows the machine to still work, but not as designed.

Bobcat's inability to make a good pilot control system for their machines is what told me to switch to Cat, and a client of mine with a 2 year old S250 is getting rid of his SJC machine, his computer has glitched out and fried 2 times now leaving it dead.

Now there is another computer on board the new Bobcats to run the engine emissions called Tier 4 , more junk , more wiring , more high dollar sensors , more shut downs , more trips to the dealer ------I think if someone started a skidsteer/tracked loader company and built a simple reliable machine they could corner the market as Bobcat has gotten away from what made them great , they use to build tuff , reliable machines that lasted a long time , this site is testement to that as there are so many still out there running and it is possible to take an old machine and get it into good shape fairly cheap doing the work yourself ----------can you vision into the furture 20 years and see trying to restore a 25 year old T300 JSC with a Tier 4 engine , it ain't going to happen , cost of parts and the knowledge to do it yourself or have a dealer do it for you will make it unfesible and impracticle --------------you see very few Bobcats in salvage /junk yards now , but I foresee lots of them in the furture as the new ones are junk

You can always buy a Takeuchi, they don't have any computer junk.

I have an s300 2008 with SJC the older version with OUT the square box under the handle. Well the controllers went out 2 days before the warrantee expired, this invoice was $2500....I was glad that I bought the extender warrantee I agree that the machines have too many wires and computers!

You needed to buy a lotto ticket the same day! Glad you didn't have to foot the bill.
