New member here I picked up a S300 with either a cracked head or ? Coolant drains fast per owner , my question is while engine is pulled should I pull hyd pump and have it rebuilt to save pulling engine again , took the oil cap off and instant science fair volcano milkshake . On engine options I have 3300 , can you use the 3800 series or stay with what is installed . Thanks for any advise

well I'm a firm believer in doing PM's when one can and has things apart,
SO way I would view things is, I'd find out the costs to have them rebuilt, if its reasonable and in your budget, and you ALSO< plan to keep this machine a long time,
I would have them rebuild

I would also replace any hoses that are tricky to get to once all things are back in too(unless they are very new)

peace of mind has some value to things, but again, that kinda comes down to one's budget too! and intent of machine use and or if one plans to keep machine a long time!

If your hydraulic Oil looks like milkshake, you have water in the system.
