How much should one expect to pay for sandblasting and repainting a skidsteer. The sizes aren't that much different that the prices shouldn't vary THAT much? Nothing fancy just black and white.

It's impossible to even guess for a myriad of reasons like anything in life. So either pick a price or do it yourself, that's what it boils down to. Either way you will have down time--doit yourself and expect 2-3 times the down time "just 'cause"---been there, done that. Was it rewarding? Yes. Is it someyhing I would want to do again. Not really. I applied paint stripper to mine and hand-scraped it. Then I had to traler it to a power washer company ($200) for a full wash down and final paint removal. It snowed on the way back and I had rewash it again. Back to my buddy's place to primer it in his cold machine shop. I had work come up for it and it was primered for a few months. Rewash again. Then I rented a storage bay ($100) for a month and top coated it. Meanwhile I got new tires, rims, decals etc. and made her look guuuuud. Then about two months later I sold her to my buddy at about a $5000 loss.
You're probably going to find it will be easier and cheaper to do it yourself. Most guys I talked to wanted $2,800 and up and wanted to trade work too. These type want something for nothing as they value their service MUCH more than you value your service (form exmaple: they get $1200 to repair a car bumper and a fender--you can grade a yard in the same amount of time and can get only a few hundred). Painting I can do; 12volt electrical I can't---my dump truck needs some 20 hours of service work according to a client's truck mechanic. I trust him--which is important--that he'll take care of me. He wants his yard regraded. The most it will take me is is about $50 in fuel.

The sand blasting cost could vary widely. The first question they will likely ask is if it is paint or powder coated. I repainted the body of my loader and spot painted part of the lift arms.
I planned on sand blasting most of it and was surprised to find my pressure pot at 125 psi with a an 1/8" nozzle would barely cut the paint. I quickly realized it was powder coat. I had to use a body grinder to remove the majority of the powder coat and then used the blaster to remove the rust in the pits and corners. I went to bare metal on most of the outer hull and rear door. It took me two days to prep and prime.
I needed a snow plow blade and frame blasted and called a number of commercial abrasive blasting companies in my area. The quotes I got to blast an 8' blade and frame after I removed the hydraulics etc ranged from $200 to $300 dollars. If it was powder coated they would only quote me job setup cost and so much per hour.
My dealer has a shop they use and refer people to. As of a couple years ago the price was around $1500 to repaint. I don't know how much of the original powder coat they removed. I assumed it was just enough to get rid of the rust.

I did a snow plow this winter borrowing a neighbors pro rig with !/2" nozzle and it took me 2-3 hrs, it was a western plow so I think it was powder coated.Shot it with glass beads I think. There is a lot of area and nooks and crannies on a skidsteer. I would think at least 6-8 hrs. Scott

I got a price of about $1,600 to get my entire machine blasted and etch primed. This is chain case, chassis, cage, arms. That was an approx number though as they don't know how tough the paint will be. They quoted about 200/hr and estimated 8 hours but rust depth and paint layers are the biggest factor. It has been over a year since i got the quote so i have no idea on the exact figures now, those numbers are from memory.
I ended up doing it all myself, about $200 in ilminite (black sand) and a home made blaster running off a $1,800 compressor. It would have been cheaper to get it done professionally but you can do small items at your leisure too like axle hubs, grills, wheel rims!. When i have finished i can sell it all for more than i paid. So in the long run I'm better off, i LOVE my 175 CFM compressor, I'm running about an 8mm blasting nozzle and it sure cuts the rust and paint till it wears then i just make a new one.
Paint, my 743 used about $200 - 300 in two pack paint, gave an amazing finish. Its nasty stuff to spray but the results are worth it. Wear a mask when spraying that evil stuff though! Its has the worst smell and the chemicals really aren't so good for your health....

I found a place that paints oil field, construction, and that kind of equipment. They told me that to sandblast and paint would cost $2000.00. Seems reasonable enough.

So Tazza, the crossed eyes and shoulder-twitching from the chemicals go away? tehehehe
LOL I was eating breakfast when i read this, almost managed to blow food out my nose!!!
But being serious, the chemicals in two pack paint can actually damage your lungs, i know a guy that is now having problems from painting with it many years ago.
