Old bobcat w kohler 2 cyl timing wico mag

Hi I just found the forum I am in the upper pen of mich I have an old bobcat. it has been stopping after about 8 min of operation. I pulled the wico mag and the coil failed the test. I hunted up a coil and I have the mag up and running but the shop manual says to time it to the 5 degree mark. I found the M and put the mag in as per the inst. but I can't find a 5 degree mark. I have been standing on my head in 90 degree weather all day and Im ready for a bobcat bonfire. any advice would be appriciated jeff in the up
