your link worked fine thank you it looks like judging by that site if i can find out what they mean by maximum reach it determins alot providing the machine has the original lifting arm assembly. To figure out what they mean by maximum reach and they are messuring it is a big question.

well after scratching around some more I found the number on the engine Id plate and it read vf4d I dont know what horse power it is but 3/4 x 3/4 must mean some thing to do with the horsepower ?

That just confirms Oldmachinists statement that it is a M-600. The VF4D is a 25hp wisconsin engine. I hope a M-700 owner will post some measurements so we can see if they are any different. Also OM......I downloaded 'Firefox' and entered the site through that browser to see if it would make any 'tools' available under "profile" or "reply to post".....it did not.
as I got scratching around some more I realised that the whole bottom or the engine block is yelloish orange paint so Idont believe the engine is original.
I have seen alot of complaints about working on the 600 vrs 610 my question is arent they both the same but different horse power ?
are the clutch setups the same on 600 and 610 ?
I am going to order a manual but not sure if it covers 610 and 600 if they are alike

I think the 700 was the first hydrostatic driven model, the 610 I had was yellow paint I believe from the factory. It also had a early version of the bob-tach with only one lever.
That is a 600 series. All 700s were hydrostatic. 600s where clutch driven. Based on the boom tower design, it is not a 700. I base opinion soley on looking in the parts catalog. I don't know jack about those and want to keep it that way.

I noticed something diferent when I visited your link 6brnoma to the historical specs and its called maximum reach are mostly all diferent mesurments the 600 has a different mesurment than the 610.Yup.....Dan's right. Here are a few differences between the 600 and 610 besides the hp rating. 610 weights 305 lbs more at 4000 lbs. Pump on the 600 is 9.5 gpm and the 610 is 11 gpm. Lifting capacity on the 610 is 490 lbs. more at 2190 lbs. The lift cylinders stroke is 25" on the 600 and 25.9" on the 610. Tilt cylinder is 16" vs 16.5".

Clutches and clutch linings are the same....Manual is written for both the 600/610 (also E & D). Years ago I replaced a broken axel and the drive gear with parts from a "basket" 600/610??? (I think) Immediately broke chains and bent all sorts of things.....on closer inspection I discovered the drive gear had a different tooth count then the others in the machine so I always count teeth now. Old Machinist.....I didn't know the pumps were different (interesting)....weight makes sense as the 610 was a 'reenforced' machine. Also, do you know if the differences in the "upright" are model specific.....one has an "eye hook" (as best as I can describe it) and the other has a heavy strap steel running from one upright to the other. It seems I've only seen the "eye hook" design on M-600s
Ok I measured the stroke on the lift cylinders and it came out to 25 and a little over three quarters inches and tilt cylinder stroke measured exactly 16.5 inches . how do I tell what the flow rate is on the pump?
Or is their any id numbers that can confirm what gaalons per minute ?
