Hi all i thought this place was the best place to ask! I am looking at buying and rebuilding a bobcat 310 it currently has no engine but used to have a petrol engine. can anyone tell me if there's a diesel engine i could fit into the 310 bobcat many thanks Nic

You could always hook up a diesel to it, it just depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put in to making new engine mounts to suit. Then you have the cost of the new engine, that could easily cost you a few thousand.

I was thinking something like a Kubota D722, it has about 19HP 3 cylinder diesel.
I don't know just how small this machine is though, the D722 is small, but not sure if it has enough HP for you.

That what i was thinking that what bobcat fit in a 453 or 463 and the 310 is similar size but alot older machine. do you know of any websites that will give me specifications of the 310 and 453/463 to compare sizes and other specs? cheers

A 453 runs a D722, its east/west though not in line like the older machines. The 463 runs a slightly larger engine but still a 3 cylinder, i think a D922? or something like that, .9 litre instead of .7 litre.

On Bobcat's historical specification page they don't list the 310 but they do list a 313 from 1978 that was diesel driven. Look at this link to see if the machine spec's are close.

They don't say what engine it is just that it was 12.5 HP diesel.
The 310 is listed as 15.4 HP gasoline
