Trying to find info on a LS180 skid steer crank no start. I am starting to think the injection pump maybe bad but trying to find out how to confirm.
Is there a place on pump to check fuel pressure?
Thanks for any help, Greg

I've never been into the injection pump itself, but I'll throw out some thoughts.
- Since it won't start, I'll assume you're not getting fuel if you open a line at an injector (unless it needs bled).
- Is there good fuel flow coming out if you open the line entering the injection pump with the key on? The electric lift pump should be pumping.
- If so, is there electricity being supplied to the fuel shut off solenoid (may need to be cranking, not sure if key on is enough, but maybe)
- If so, replace fuel shut off solenoid or test it somehow? If ok, increase worry about the injection pump or it's drive being bad.

- If no fuel supplied to the injection pump, is the lift pump running (clicking/rattling)? (lift pump could still be bad if is running)
- Also, I've seen fibrous dirt plug up the fuel filter head and limit/stop flow. Have to remove entire filter head, completely disassemble and thoroughly clean.
- Beyond that, running out of ideas, whole in fuel suction line?......

You're on the right track. To check the injection pump, first, ensure good fuel flow to the pump. Open a line at the injectors to see if fuel is reaching them during cranking. If fuel isn't getting to the injectors, check the lift pump, fuel filter, and lines for blockages. Also, make sure the fuel shutoff solenoid is working properly. Unfortunately, most mechanical injection pumps don't have a direct port for checking fuel pressure, so you'll have to diagnose it based on fuel delivery and electrical inputs.

I took the spring out of
My fuel shutoff, I planned on replacing it. Too many gremlins in that damn loader. Have to take one out at a time. Atleast I took that one out of the equation for now. You should be able to hear the fuel supply pump running , pumping to injectors. It's quiet but if you listen you can hear it click on and run when you turn the key.
