I have a L425 with a Wisconsin vh4d it's not charging battery. Have service manual and it shows a alternator but nothing about charging system or location. I have looked all over machine for alternator, wiring or stator and wires coming from engine guards and can not find any evidence of any of it. I was hoping someone might be able to post a pic of where the charging system comments are at possibly. Right now I just run it with a jump pack just can't shut it down once I start using it because jump pack doesn't have enough amps for a second start. Thanks for any help anyone can provide

I moved a couple of threads here so hopefully they'll be seen by fellow NH ers that can help. As for the Wisc. probably follow the battery leads and see where it ends up.
In the manual thread, I found a site that has a lot of Wisconsin books, you might want to peruse that and see what options were used for charging. The VH4D in my 700 runs an alternator belt just ahead of the universal joint.

First time I've ever used a forum of any sort so this is all new to me. Thank you for your reply! I have the new holland service manual for it but there is nothing in the charging system except pic a an alternator. I picked the machine up for 1100$ knowing it had some gremlins but thought was worth every bit of 1100$ been running it for two years with jump pack just getting a little old having to charge pack so I can start again. I have looked for a pulley that would of run alt no luck. It has def had a coulple different people work on it in its life and had some wires just hanging and some new wires run. Haven't been able to get any help from any dealers near me on it. It is a older machine so maybe they aren't interested. I've been a truck Mech all my life and was always willing to help anyone I could with info. My wife is after me to get the engine back in the bobcat I agree but the l425 is so nice in the barn because it's smaller.

I think it might be possible that the stator is under the flywheel , I saw that option on a 2 cylinder Wisconsin tdj engine.

That's what I thought also I don't even see a place in the engine cover that the wires would have came out of. I'm going to try one more dealer to see if they might be able to Assit in the right direction. It's puzzling to me that the service manual shows alternator but doesn't have anything about it or say see Wisconsin manual for charging system info. Should be diffing into with all this time on our hands now but wife has me remodeling the kitchen and my list of projects is endless. Really hate to down it when I need it. I should probably get my 753 back together the year into why the l425 isn't charging Was hoping maybe I was just overlooking something really simple . Hay season fast approaching and have a pile of stuff to do on my baler from a really stupid move last year cause I was in a hurry. But I also always thought how nice it would be to have all new equipment and no issues That's not the Case the neighbor has near new johns Deere equipment and it is still broken I have a not even year old kubota sidekick utv and it has to go back to dealer for the fifth time cause they can't seem to fix it. Thinking it might be time for lemon law or what ever can do with that thing. But another piece of equipment I don't know how we got by with out.

My buddies stump grinder has the bigger Wisconsin v4 on it and it has a stator Just a FYI

Google search Messicks.com/nh/317470 find 024 Electrical. It shows an alternator by the starter. A search shows an enclosed alternator. I had a L225 with a Motorola alternator that I took to a auto electrical shop and they cleaned it and put brushes in and it worked fine after that.It was on a pulley behind the fan. Good luck. Hope this helps. My L225 also had the old gas engine.

Thanks that was very helpful. Going to take a look tomorrow and see if I can find it From that pic looks like it's on back of engine. Maybe under the seat possibly and was just overlooking it.
