I have a ct 322 skid steer that has developed a problem that I cant put my finger on. At first the engine begin to surge up and down. So I changed the fuel filters. I still have trouble starting it and usually have to pump the hand pump to get it started. It will turn 3000 rpms, however, it drops down to about 2200 when moving forward or dropping the bucket down. Has anyone had this problem? If so, I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Hi All, Sorry to dig up an old thread but my 2006 CT322 has started doing this same sort of behavior. I am guessing from what I have run across the culprit might be the fuel line check valve. That is what I am planning to replace first. Can someone elaborate on any other possibility for a solution? Did the OP get a resolution and if so what he found? Thanks for the help.

I raised up the cab and looked at the fuel lines but did not see a check valve. Does anyone have a picture to help with locating a check valve? Does this skid steer have one? Is there anyone out there that has experience with this? Thanks for the help.

On other machines, they have check valves in the fuel tank. Bobcat has a pickup tube that has a filter/one way valve in it. Hopefully yours is the same sort of setup, and easy to find.

did you change water separator filter
Just for closure and maybe to help someone else. Deere replaced the injectors but still no fuel slow according to them. There was another in the shop at the same time and they did some comparing. Believe they found the governor rod laying loose and not moving.
