MUSTANG 2050 - Gear Housing 'Lubrication' ???

Could somebody please explain how the Gear Housing is lubricated in a Mustang 2050. I have noted there is an ‘Oil Cap – Filler hole’ on the actual housing but no associated dip stick. I have minimal mechanical experience but was thinking possibly the gear housing is lubricated by associated plumbing. Having said that, why is there a Filler Hole? Do I need to check oil levels? Do I need to add oil? What sort of oil? Many thanks for putting my mind at ease.

Thank you for your consideration. I am referring to this as the Gear Housing as I have indentified the component from the Parts Manual. I am not sure if I can forward 'Pictures' in the forum but I could certainly forward to an email address. Many thanks once again.

Ok looked in manual, gear housing is the timing cover , the oil filler is for filling the engine,yanmar put 2 fill points so if the engine is used in an application(e.g. genset) that you cannot fill though the rocker cover you can use the filler on the timing cover.
