i tried out toolcat with 90 inch deck, worked just right. but i decided over 50k too much for single use of mowing even at 50 acres, so now looking at other options. what size skid steer do i need to handle bobcats 90 inch deck or other brand, i want to use the largest deck i can,. i have a john deere and bobcat dealer both about 60miles away , i think i would be more satisfied with skidsteer vs tractor , i'm trying to keep price down below 25k thanks

I think a tractor with an air/heat cab and bat-wing mower is the ticket. It will be 5 times faster and a better ride than a skid steer. Add a floating seat and stereo and you can mow all day.

What kind of terrain? Do you care about the quality of the cut and what kind of tracks the machine is going to leave? The 'bat wing' mowers are the way to go, they are just like big 'zero turns' that most people have now. If you dont have a lot of obstacles there are some nice tow behind mowers that have their own motors and everything. They can be towed behind anything including another mower with an offset hitch to gain width. They are also much cheaper than your budget. Downside is they can be a pain to go around stuff, thats where the 'bat wings' are handy. I had one of these peoples 60" mowers and it worked well after I put a bigger motor on it. I now see the offer different motors, if your place is not a golf course I recommend the largest you can afford. http://www.swisherinc.com/default.asp It may not be exactally what you are looking for but may give you some ideas.
