Mini Bobtach Adapter - Pre-463 to S70/MT-5X Type

In my ongoing quest to keep my old 440b as current as possible, I built up another Bobtach adapter. I have been wanting to do this one for a while, and the stars finally aligned.
We have a local rental shop that rents MT-52 attachments for very reasonable rates, and I have had my eye on the trencher attachment that they have. I have had some interest from some of my customers in having some trenchs dug, so I did not want anything standing in way from doing so.
I picked up a Bobtach plate kit from Skidsteer Solutions a couple of months ago. It was a kit that was meant to adapt a Thomas T85 to latest Bobcat mini attachments. I selected this one for 2 reasons: 1) SS did not offer a kit that would work on my machine, and more importantly, 2) it was on sale!!
As delivered, the T85 mounting plate was bolted to the Bobtach plate, which added to the thickness and weight of the adapter. I elected to weld the mounting features to the Bobtach for these reasons.
So here it is:

It is a little thicker and heavier than what I would have liked, but for the kind of attachments that I will be using on it, it will be fine. Clearance to the loader frame is excellent. The nicest thing is that full size attachments also fit with this Bobtach. I tried my auger attachment, and it fits like a glove; it is just a bit of a trick to get it centred so the pins line up, but not to bad.
Another tool for the tool box!!

That is a very fancy adaptor, handy to run just about any attachment your machine can lift.

SkidRoe, I have been looking to build the same type adaptor for my 450! I keep looking at the Titan Attachments QT-K plates as they are around $200. What made you choose the Skid Steer Solutions adaptor over the Titan QT-K plates? After adapting a small set of 31" pallet forks and a 44" root grapple to work on my 450 I believe an adaptor like you built will allow me to rent items I need. Having 3 buckets, pallet forks a root grapple, and a snow plow (in progress) covers 98% of my needs and renting a auger or trencher will be much more cost effective than buying one for what I will use it for. (Thinking a small hoe would be handy to dig small tight areas though) I have built up 2 sets of Pre 463 plates for use on my 450 and my cousins 440b (was mine originally), these plates are welded up and just waiting to be used! I am hoping to do something this fall or into the winter after I buy the plates.

Hi farmall, looked at the QTK adapter. It would require some framework to be built behind it in order to turn it into an adapter. Also, it is a full size Bobtach setup(44" wide), not the mini style (35" wide). I already have a full size Bobtach adapter. But that is a very good price for what you are getting, best price I have seen. Cheers - SR

Also, it is a full size Bobtach setup(44" wide), not the mini style (35" wide). I already have a full size Bobtach adapter. Thank you SkidRoe for the information. I will probably be buying one this fall too and modify it as it will make it easy to use rental attachments.

I am looking to upfit my new to my 443 and would like to do something like this. How is it holding up? Why do you have 2 adapter plates? Sorry to bring up an old thread just figured this would be better than starting a new one.
