I just purchased a new holland lx865 and the boom is slow to raise, sometimes jerks. The hydraulic fluid is full. Also there is a run/service switch up in rh side of the cab that will only let the machine run in the service side of the switch. Does anyone have experience with these problems. I bought it thinking it only needed a axle bearing replaced.

The hyd pump may be worn or the relief valve is weak. You should not be able to raise the boom or tilt the bucket if the switch in the service position. There is something wrong with the seat or seat belt circuits if the loader will not start. Place the switch in the run position, as you sit in the seat look at the instrument panel an see if the panel lights up. If it does the seat circuit is OK. Next fasten the seat belt and see if the seat belt light goes out, if it does the seat belt circuit is OK.

When you sit in the seat to check if the instrument panel lights up, the key switch must be in the OFF position.

I will have to check that tomorrow. the boom and bucket will all work in the service position. i noticed the switch while i was in the machine running it. I flipped the switch to run and the engine will die. I flipped the switch back and the rpm's starting coming back and ran fine again. I do have lights on the panel that flash all the time.

No lights come on when you set in the seat with the key off. I tried it with the run/service switch in both positions.

In the engine compartment fuse panel is a 5amp fuse. It should be the second from the bottom on the fuse block closest to the engine. This supplies power for safety circuit.
