My 1998 LX865 has no display when i sit in the seat. Is there a way to short the seat switch to test the EIC? It was working well, then i got it in it, sat down, lights came on, lights went out and have stayed out. There is 12v at the seat switches and at the seat belt switch. I read that i need ground at pin 13 connector 2 on the back of EIC, i'm going to check that tomorrow. And that i need 12v at pin 14 cocnnector 2. We'll see. Now my machine is obviously locked out and only starts in the service mode for transportation. HELP! :)

When you sit in the seat power is sent to the seat belt and back to the instrument panel. Disconnect the seat harness from the main harness behind the seat. Using an ohm meter check if you have continuity between two of the terminals when someone is in the seat. If not the seat harness is bad. There should be continuity between all three terminals with someone in the seat and the seat belt fastened.

I took the board out, cleaned it, put it back in and it worked for a day. Now we can't get it to work at all. I found a great one for sale but it's the Gold trim, will it work in my Silver trimmed machine? Chuck

Will it work? Yes, but it will not fit the opening for the instrument panel. There is a replacement instrument panel made for the opening of the silver panel machines.
