ok fellas removed switch and installed a press gauge. thi is the switch on the bottom (output )side of the filter maain housing. at 2280 rpms im gettin 145psi. am i checking the right spot. i really need a service manual but the cheapest i have found is 275$. when i unhooked this switch i noticed it stays running and nothing lights up telling me to stop. also talked to the original owner who happens to be a close friend of mine and i asked him if he ever changed the hydro fluid. he said no but it did blow a main hose once, which drained most of the system . and they put regular old hydro fluid like for a tractor, back in it . i guess they didnt know any different. im guessing it was 32w or close to that maybe a universal type fluid. would this b the root of the problem? the machine has always "whined" so to speak. if so what do i do to correct the problem. im going to try and change the fluid although im not quite sure where the drain is for the hydro tank. is there a chance that one of u guys could maybe e-mail me a copy of the hydro section of the service manual. im on a tight budget so buying one is out of the question. can it b downloaded from a particular site?
That price of $275 is for a full set of 6 service manuals. Call 1-800-635-4913. They will ask your serial no. and what model . You can buy the seperate manuals. . Operators manual, hydrostatic system and steering system , hydraulic system , Engine, electrical , and I think final drive.
The manuals are well written and show in detail step by step instructions. I think you need the hydrostatic {system and steering system} and {hydraulic system}manuals. The {owners manual } has all the dash lights and a lot of general info . Great manual. I think the owners manual is $60 and the other two are about 30 to 35 each. You get a better deal getting the whole set. And save on shipping. These are the same manuals the mechanics at the dealer use.
It you removed the switch and it stayed running I would replace that switch. Your charge pressure sendor would be under the seat conected to the pumps directly.
I think you have found the right leaking switch. Your filter and oil cooler are on the return trip to the tank and wouldnt carry the same pressure as the charge pressure.I cant find what the pressure should be at the ftlter housing.
When you said you removed the right engine cover and found a leaking sendor I was thinking you found the charge pressure sendor. on my lx865 its under the engine compartment fuse box. on the end of a short small hyd. hose with two wires attached.
If the leaking sendor is the one on the filter housing and disconecting it keeps it running without warning lights I would replace it and not worry about pressure. The system should warn you if its not right.
I hope this makes sence. I dont think you are dealing with a charge pressure problem. But doesnt explain why the machine shut down. I do have a larger model but the put them together very similar.
They all whyn especially at low rpms and low speeds. Mike
