LX 885 starter

Hi all I have a LX 885 that I just replaced the starter on due to the starter not engaging/turning the motor. Brand new starter installed and now it won't turn over at all. The lights don't even come on. Battery has ~ 12.6 vdc. I believe the cables are all put back where they came from, I'm just not sure what happened. Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks Scott

remove all battery main connections and make sure that they are clean, then while all is disconnected use a battery load tester to see how many amps the battery is gonna give you compared to the battery listed rating , just cause you have voltage does not mean that the battery is good it is only half the story.

Thanks, I had already done a load test of the battery. I made a real bonehead move. Put the starter on at the end of the day as it was getting dark......Missed the main cable from the battery to the starter! "Found" it this morning, works great with all wires attached.
