I have a 1991 L455 and from what I found it pumps at 14.5 gpm. Not sure psi. What I want is a log splitter for it. I have a friend that is going to make it. I want a 30" ram on it. Going to mount it upside down so I can set it on top and split that way. What size cylinder do I need (how big around) will 3" do or do I need a 4or 5 inch. Next thing will this small of a machine even handle a splittler And will it have enough power to split the big stuff or do I just need a bigger machine? Thanks for any help.

It will easily do the job.
The larger the ram the more force you will have but the more force = slower cylinder operation. You have heaps of oil flow there, so you will need to work out what speed you want it to cycle at and the force you want. A calculator is here:

They also have cylinders available at a good price.
