I tilted my cab up yesterday to check some wiring for a fuse that kept blowing. When I closed the cab, I tried to lower the arms, but I lost control of them. Everything worked fine before I opened the cab. I can use the controls to drive the machine, but not to raise and lower the arms. Does anyone have a clue what happened?

I forgot to mention that it is a 70XT. I am thinking that it might be the loader valve solenoid, but am not 100% sure. Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your loader and bucket lock solenoids are bad or the wires going to them has been damaged. Probably by mice. Check the wires to see if they are damaged first. Usually both solenoids dont go bad at the same time. Was the fuse you were blowing the lock fuse and the machine would die or not start? Normally the one of the solenoids shorts out and blows the lockout fuse. If you replace the fuse the machine will start and run until the lapbar is lowered.

Very strange, but the problem ended up being a cab door sensor. I removed the cab door before tilting the cab forward. I guess if the cab door is off the sensor will not allow the controls to work, unless you have a special switch.

Didnt think about your machine having a cab. Most guys will push the plunger and put a zip tie or tape around it to keep it closed when they remove the door. The switch is there to prevent damage to the door when it is opened and the loader is raised or lowered into it. Make sure you have the switch working when the door is on the machine as the door are a little pricey.
