I have an old L779 and have been experiencing intermittent boom lockout. I have the spool valve out for maintenance, so I thought I'd take the solenoid apart to look at it. I did an ohm test on it and got 7-8 ohms. I have not disassembled the valve yet, because the seal kit is obsolete according to Messicks. the hydraulic valve(608550) shows one o-ring in my service manual. The online parts diagram shows two o-rings and two back up washers. has anyone taken theirs apart? and have a source for o-rings?

The O-rings and back up rings are likely standard sizes. I would take the valve to a hydraulic repair shop, they should be able to match up what you have.
Hope this helps - SR

I get all my Orings and seals from my friendly local seal shop too.
