I have a problem with the engine oil light. Today I put a new shock in my left steering equalizer and was running the machine the get it to neutralize. Had it in service mode and didn't see any problem with lights. After I got done I loaded it on trailer and that's when I noticed the light. Have had any problems with the engine and it has a new filter and oil. Could it be a bad sender or electrical problem? Is there a way to put a gauge in the system to check oil pressure? Need some advice as I don't want to end up with engine problems. Thanks

A bad sender is where i'd start too, even install a mechanical gauge to be 100% sure that it is at fault..

Tazza I looked at the sender today. Tried to get it out. Has to be a 6 point shallow socket which I don't have. Tried a deepwell and the starter is in the way. No one around had a shallow 6 point socket so had to order. If it is the sender I think I will install a gauge. The sender is $40 and a gauge kit is $18. Just need a place to mount it. Hope it is the sender as I don't want trouble in the engine. Thanks for your answer.

At least with a physical gauge, you know exactly what you have, not just a light that goes on or off.
I'm with you, lets hope it's a sender, engines are not cheap....

I would take a good look at the wire. When I got my l555 every light was lite on the panel. It was all bad wires and grounds. My wire was cracked at the sending unit. With the servicing that you had, all it takes is a gentle tug on that wire to break it.
