A few months back i picked up a L553 skid loader as a project, motor had already been removed, but a good (hopefully) motor that came out of another L553 came with the sale.

Ive only worked on it a little here and there but i have gotten the motor in the machine and starting to hook it up. I have a few things sticking out that im not sure about.

Below the injection pump there is a brass fitting that looks to be about 1/2" that i am unsure what it is for?

Right above the starter there is a sensor and a fitting that im also unsure where it would go?

It was tough for me to figure out exactly what alternator i need but i ordered one and i figure itll probably work but im a little confused on how it wires in.

If anyone could help work out these unkowns for me it would be greatly appreciated!

Fitting above starter could be oil pressure switch? On L555 (Kubota v1902) the wire is Yellow/Black, I believe. Wire should probably go to warning light. Light on when key ON, engine not running.

I might be wrong but brass fitting near lift pump could/should be coolant drain cock.

Probably have temp switch at front of engine, near alternator (?). If this has no wire, then one of that bunch might be it. Might be Yellow/Dk-Green. Mine were floating around, disconnected. Great fun tracing them.

I'm an absolute amateur - with an L555 - so these are best guesses.

Awesome. One step closer! This motor is also the v1902. So your oil pressure switch just has the sensor and wire and no extra fitting like mine?

I will look into finding a draincock to replace that coolant fitting

And also will check that temp switch for an empty terminal.

Thank you for the help, any is appreciated
