Hey guys, new member here. My 2004 240 recently started acting up. I have 1156 hours on it. Recently, the throttle response is lagging heavily. When I start it up and run at low RPM to let warm up, then push throttle to full throttle, it takes forever to get to max RPM. If I pull throttle back to idle and hit back to full throttle, it is fine. When I go to shut the machine off though, it keeps running. Hit it to full throttle, then back to idle and still runs. Hit the key back on and off and it will eventually stop. Heading to Deere right now to get new fuel filters. I started it last night and ran it for five minutes and it died. First place to start is fuel filters I am guessing. Have been diligent in replacing main filter. Any other ideas or suggestions??

Update. Went to Deere and got all new filters. Hadn't replaced inline. Replaced water separator, it was clean. Replaced inline filter, small amount of debris came out. Bled lines at separator and cranked it over. Finally started up and cleared out. Ran for 15 seconds and died. Let it sit with key on for 15 seconds and fires back up. Dies after running for 5 seconds. If I try and restart it immediately, does nothing but crank. Let it sit for a few moments and fires back up. Like it's starving for fuel. Inline pump seems to be working. I don't have the testing equipment to measure flow but fuel spits out of bleed valve at separator at a pretty good rate. Without taking it to Deere just yet, am I better off replacing inline pump at $120 or pulling off injector pump and having it tested? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In line filter arrow pointing the right way? Otherwise I'd try running the current pump out of a fuel can and see what it does maybe a problem with a line

Brand new inline filter. Got arrows pointing in the right direction. Fires up for a few seconds and died. Bought new pump from Deere and installed. Same issue. Jumped wire from battery to fuel shutoff solenoid and bypassed relay. Same result. Think it's gotta be narrowed down to either fuel shutoff solenoid or injector pump. Hate to, but gonna have Deere come out and pull pump. Deere doesn't offer fuel shutoff solenoid, they get that from diesel shop. It's inside the pump, so can look at pump at that time I think and decide what is the culprit.
