I just bought a fairly low hour unit where seller said that he had replaced the main hydraulic pump back in Sept 2016 because shaft had sheared on old one. Nothing got into system. I noticed that the tilt and boom lift are slow and doesnt have the lifting power it should. I had JD come out and they said that the fairly new pump was bad. They also said that have seen issues where if you only replace 1 pump vs all 3 at same time have issues with it only lasting a short while. Tech said that at idle would only get 1500psi and when throttled up would makle it to 3300psi but couldnt hold it. They also said likely wasn't a relief valve issue. Anyone seen this or have a better solution than replacing all 3 pumps for big $$?

We did pumps in a 250 I think 3 times. Usually a bushings spins between the pumps wrecking the housing

Was symptoms you had the same as my current ones?
Ideally, if a pump or motor go bad, the other good pumps/motor should be pulled and cleaned just in case there was metal in there from the failure. Sadly, a lot of people will cut corners and not do this, causing damage later on.
Your pump needs pulling to see what the internals look like. Even pulling and cutting open your hydraulic and case drain filters if fitted. Look for metal particles.

Yes we would loose pressure than when it was disassembled they would find to bad bearings or bushing. We always did both pumps but I could see where corners could be cut.

when pulled apart found that previous owner did not change out the 2 bushings when changed the charge pump which caused the new pump to go bad. I bought new pump from a Eaton vendor and they provided me with new bushings ($25/each) and works like a champ now. I don't believe JD has a listing for these so something to be aware of in future

That's harsh, killing a pump over $50 worth of bshings, shame they didn't do the job right....
Glad you have it all sorted out now though.

You are correct beemmeup Deere doesn't offer those bushings and usually they will wreck the housing
