Hello friends. I'm having the worst time ripping loose hydraulic lines, 3 times in 3 weeks. I've been clearing brush and trees. Twice they've been torn loses (once from the loader and once from the mulcher), and one got crushed & busted open another time. Anything I can cover them with or for added protection?

Where are you rlines hanging to get caught up? i have never had a line caught and be damaged.
I have had auger lines twist in bad ways when moving into pisition after attaching a different auger to the drive unit.

They make a tough nylon spiral wrap for hose protection, can be installed without removing the hose.
If they are getting caught on stuff, it might be possible to rig up a spring lanyard that keeps them out of the way but allows for necessary movement.

I see a lot of cracking & sun damage on a lot of my hoses, but notice that damage is not present where the hose is covered by that nylon protective sleeve. After the outer rubber covering disintegrates, then the inner metal layer rusts (away ) so I have resolved that any hoses I replace, I will spend the extra to get the nylon sleeve. ( nylon sleeve is intended to protect the operator from hydraulic leaks), but also protects the hose from sun damage & abrasive wear. ( the old saying, if it moves, it cant touch anything, if it touches any thing, it cant move applies here) I wrap multiple layers of heavy nylon cable (zip) ties around the hoses in the boom hinge area on my lx865. make wraps with split radiator hose to gain clearance, etc heavy equipment dealers ( Caterpillar, at least- and they would love to $sell$ you any hose you can describe) offer a spiral spring hose armor. I use a tarp strap to try to keep extra hose lengths from getting in the way, or rubbing . ( but the rubber tarp straps also crack with age. when it lets go, half of it will be coming at me! )
