Hey guys I was working on my 865 today putting new axle bearings in and noticed on the floor underneath it that I had an oil leak. After further examination I have determined that the gearbox between the hydraulic pumps and the engine is completely full of hydraulic oil to the point where it is being forced out the breather. When I pulled the dipstick between the pumps it too began to leak oil. Now for my question, is there a seal between the pumps and the drive gearbox that could be leaking? IE: seal from the end of the pumps leaking past into gearbox? If so does anyone have an exploded view of the pumps which will show me how to go about fixing it? Thanks in advance

The oil is leaking from the hydrostat pump seals. Remove hoses, lines, and linkage. There are two mounting bolts in each pump. One will need to be accessed from the bottom. After the bolts are removed the pumps can be removed.
For an exploded view you can go to Newhollad.com and follow the parts links to the online parts catalog.

Thats kind of what I thought it was, thanks for the confirmation on it for sure. Looks like we run it up on blocks and crawl underneath and remove belly pan. (for bottom bolts) Seems like it may be easier to lift the cab to get at the pumps but I could be wrong.

Just a word of caution. Do not run it up on blocks. Raise the machine and block under the chain case frame. I did the blocks one time and the loader rolled off. Luckily no one was under it.
