Hydraulic Fluid Level

Is it normal for my newly purchased (used) T-66 to be down 1 gallon of Hydraulic Fluid ? Is that indicative that something must have been (or is currently) leaking?

Is it normal for my newly purchased (used) T-66 to be down 1 gallon of Hydraulic Fluid ? Is that indicative that something must have been (or is currently) leaking?

It could be a leak or it could be that there was an attachment on it that leaked. Also, fluid expands and contracts with temperature. So checking it when it is warm vs cold ( machine and or weather ) can make a difference.

The best thing to do is inspect for leaks inside and out then clean the machine thoroughly, let it dry, and then run it for a while and inspect for any leaks again.
