How's life?

Help Support SkidSteer Forum:

My Bobcat S70 is so reliable, I haven't needed to browse these forums for a long time, so that's why I've been absent.

I know it's usually chaotic, but figured I'd ask to see how everyone is doing in the community?
The buzzards are circling but I can still keep them at bay.
After much consideration I made the move to replace my 2040 Mustang with a Giant G2700HD+ wheel loader. A bit of a learning curve, but so far so good.

I'm keeping my bobcat 853 running and in good shape.
I replaced the spool seals and also the seals in the bucket/
lift control. None of this stuff is easy but can be done.
Also I replaced the bushings in the bob-tach and also
the tapered pins which were somewhat worn. I also replaced the water temp sensor to restore functionality to the temp gauge. Another project was to replace the injection pump,
a somewhat challenging thing. The timing marks on the pump
seemingly were in the wrong place for my 4JB1 engine.
My 853 has a little over 3000 hours on it now and is used regularly. I could afford to buy a newer machine but elect to
keep this one as long as possible.

Just getting in sync with the NH L223 I just bought. Will be picking brains a lot in the near future

We're fine, thanks for asking , Jim's still carrying broken trees to the curb for pickup (New Holland skid steer lx985 with a grapple) . We were very fortunate regarding the 2 hurricanes that hit FL this year. Hope all is well with you.

Here, in ESTONIA, is everyting ok. No hurricanes, no vulcan`s, no big waves from sea.. just one bad neighbor, otherwise is life good.
I`m sometimes thinking that why we, estonians, building our houses strong and reliable, even we do`nt have any horrific circumstances...

I call my neighbors The McNasties.

Still here, I use this forum about 2-3 times per year. I'm not terribly active. But, if anyone has LS185b questions I can help answer them. I've been through a lot of this machines systems and made modifications to it over about 5 years of ownership.

I've made my own 800W pair of electric cab heaters (1600W total). Added grip heaters, windshield wiper to the aftermarket cab door, added on-board battery charger and installed engine oil heater on top of the factory installed engine coolant heater. I use mine to snow-blow my place in the Colorado mountains at 7,900 ft. Elevation every year. Not to mention farm take and pot holes, etc. it's been a great machine.
