How to troubleshoot no-start on LX565?

Hi All,

My LX565 started periodically not unlocking the boom controls recently. The wires had come loose on one of the seat switches so I replaced the connectors and put everything back together. Initially the EIC would not light up. The 5amp fuse was blown and I replaced it. Now the EIC lights up when I sit in the seat.

Everything looks normal and acts normal (EIC comes on when I sit, countdown with the key turn, lights go out, can hear the fuel pump, etc) until I go to crank the engine and nothing happens. Troubleshooting *is* complicated by half the lights being out on the EIC, including the seat belt light. I checked and the seat belt switch and now I'm not getting a connection, so I rigged up a fake switch using the SAE cable from my battery charger. I can "buckle" and "unbuckle" the seatbelt using that.

Still no won't start.

The machine will start in "Service" but will of course Error 2 when I switch it to Run.

Any help would be most appreciated.

sounds like the wiring to the seat belt switch is not correct, , but having the round about added> makes me wonder if there is a s eat belt relay in the system that isn't getting signal
replacement seat belt switches are pretty cheap, maybe yours is faulty?
and I would be double checking wiring looking for shorts or corrosion on connections, as well as double checking your re wiring of things

Thank you for redirecting me to this part. The switch was fine, it turns out the SAE connector had a partial break in the wire going in, so it was being intermittent. I cut and spliced in a new part and it starts. I think I was getting into the "if you get out of the seat, you have to rebuckle the seatbelt" side loop without knowing it (because I don't have a seatbelt light).

I *was* still having trouble with the booms not unlocking and I am pretty sure I also have an intermittent disconnect in the spool lock solenoid. If I wiggle the wire, I can get it to work (for now). I will go ahead and buy new spool solenoids.

And then eventually try to get the LEDs replaced in my EIC which would have made this entire problem so much easier to diagnose :)

sounds like your making progress and thanks for coming back to up date things, always nice when folks do that and provide fixes , so if others have like issues they have a little help from reading things

Well, I did the one task (put out hay) that I really needed to do. Then drove it and parked. Went to start it up again this evening and NO START again. ARRGH. I think there must be *yet another* intermittent wire connection somewhere. I need to figure out where the seat switch circuit goes after the seat switch and see if there is an open somewhere before I open up the EIC and look in there. This is so very frustrating!
