I'm having some trouble in the setup menu of my L230. The owners manual is a little vague with the instructions but heres where i'm at: Press operate and aux overide buttons before sitting on seat enters setup menu. Sit in seat amd press start button and scroll to "lock" menu. Ive entered and saved a "owners" pin number and saved it, there appears to be 2 sub menu's where you can exit in a "locked" screen or "unlocked" screen. It doesnt seem to make a difference. Supposedly when you turn the machine off your supposed to press aux hyd button to activate anti theft but i cant get it to ask for a pin upon re entering cab? Is there some type of trick to activate the feature? Thanks

Figured it out, there appears to be an owners pin and then 9 user accounts to store settings in for each one. After creating a user in addition to the owner, the anti theft feature now is available on shutdown.

My manual was actually really specific on all of the menu settings it even shows diagrams.

Saw your post and thought I'd throw this at everyone reading it. I buy and sell this stuff and because the manufacturers do NOTHING to prevent theft, by their stupid non-sequence cutting of ignition keys, I came up with a good idea. MEASURE TWICE - CUT ONCE!!! Let's say you have 2 new keys that fit the machine. After tracing the key out on on a piece of paper, cut off an 1/8th inch or so of the tip of the key. Then, using a pair of needle nose pliers or a tweezer, insert that small piece into the ignition switch!! Now cut the other key, but figure in the length of whatever you used to cut the other key off with, so the key lines up with the tumblers in the lock. Got it? So with the short piece of the key in the lock NOTHING will fit the lock except a key that has been shortened to fit!! Not even a factory key!!! But your new "shorty" key will!! This won't stop a thief who has a lot of time but it will confuse the crap out of someone who thinks he can go to a dealer (or Ebay!) and buy an el-stocko key for any Holland loader!!!

Clever idea. Of course the way my luck runs when I was easing the little cut piece to the end of the lock cylinder it would flip forward on it's side then I'd be in a world of hurt. Maybe cutting off a piece 1/4" or more would eliminate that though. Didn't know many of the keys were non-sequenced, I'll keep that in mind.

I like that idea too, very simple, yet effective.

Now this is something off of einsteins notes.
