hl2600 fuel gauge?

so there was never a fuel gauge on these machines from the factory?

Not that I'm aware of. I don't know if you have a parts book, so here is a link to a free on line parts book. It has helped me quite a bit over the years. It's nice to look up how things are supposed to be on these, since they are sort of old and probably cobbled (ours sure was) somewhat over time.
