Hey guys, i have a 1997 Deere 5575 (new holland l150), and i need a right hand side hydraulic boom piston/cylinder. i have a part number (86570925), which is discontinued from both Deere and NH. My local dealer gave me part number (87038975), which is the part for a NH LS150. Does anyone know if this cylinder will work, and if i need to change the metal lines that run to the feed and returns. AAAHHH!!! so annoying trying to mix match but i really have no choice, my cylinder has a bend in the barrel which makes it way to expensive to fix it, cheaper to just buy one.

Have you gotten a price from a good cylinder shop on a rebuild? Replacing the tube or barrel should be cheaper than a cylinder from the dealer.

Messicks shows it at $553 for the cylinder, 0 in stock but evidently still available.

i agree, i can have it rebuilt, and was quoted a cost more than the price of the replacement piston. Completely agree with you that it is completely possible to have it rebuilt, and it'll be the next step if i can't get the replacement.

That sounds very high for a rebuild, unless it is a metric tube, otherwise replacing the tube is pretty much a everyday deal at a cylinder shop. If you can get the new one for 550 or so it would be reasonable.

yeah i got the new one from my local dealer for $480 with shipping. i decided to take the bent one to my local hydraulic shop to rebuild it for a spare.
