Help! LX865 - 1997, where do I find the serial number?

Where on the machine itself can I find the serial number? Looking everywhere and can't seem to find it. Customs won't release it until I show them a serial. Thanks.

When you are sitting in the machine, on piece of sheet metal, next to your right leg, all the way up in the front corner, abover your right foot, and about in the middle of that piece of sheet metal should be a tag with the VIN. If you machine has a "door" on it with a wiper and washer bottle, its kind of hidden behind the wiper bottle.
If you still cant find it, I will take a pic of where mine is and post is, my machine is a 99 Lx885, same basic machine you have, same generations as well 94-99. I would except to be there. If Im not mistaken, the operators manual (if you have it) shows an illustration of where its at, first time I went looking, I had trouble finding it too..
