Has anyone ever swapped in a late model chevy or ford alternator into a case 1830?

I installed a Nippon-Denso one-wire alternator in my Bobcat - easy to wire and works great!

Between Ford and Chevy (Delco), I would go with the Delco 10SI - super easy to wire - gives you a charge warning light as standard. I have retrofitted these to a lot of farm tractors.

But given the freedom of choice - one-wire every time. You can get a 10SI one wire. I went with the ND alternator as I had packaging issue and it is physically a lot smaller than the 10SI

My $0.02
